Why come on one of my tours ?
The market place is full of companies offering battlefield tours. Many coach companies offer value-for-money tours, and it must be said that these offer a useful introduction to the battlefields but the problem is that enthusiasts always come away frustrated by what they didn't see and often with a myriad of unanswered questions. Typical responses I have heard from clients : that they found the coach tour interesting but "Jim was unable to spend the time he wanted taking photographs", or "we really wanted to go to such-and-such cemetery but the driver said there wasn't time". The advantage of one of my tours is that they are run at a pace to suit you - every aspect of your tour will have been discussed prior to travelling. You will be travelling at a time chosen by you, hotels and restaurants will be chosen to suit your needs and wishes.
Collection and return will be arranged to suit you. This will normally be at Maidstone Services on the M20. Depending on the number in the party, travel will be either by 7-seater MPV for up to six adults, with air-conditioning and travel fridge, or mini-coach for larger parties. The channel crossing is at the customer's discretion, either by P&O Ferries or by the faster Eurotunnel. On certain tours it will be necessary for travellers to purchase their own air tickets as I do not hold ATOL or ABTA status. I am, however, registered as a sole trader tour operator and hold comprehensive tour operator's liability insurance. I also have a client trust account so you can rest assured your money is safe until the tour is completed satisfactorily.
The heart of my business is you, the customer. I am guided at all times by your wishes and requirements. I will provide an itinerary keyed to your interests and one which I feel most closely meets your requirements. For example, some may simply wish to find and remember a missing relative, others may want a broad-brush introduction to a particular battle or region. Then there are those who require a more in-depth study of particular aspects of the conflict. I can cater for all these varying requirements, often blending them into one tour for parties that contain a mix of interests and experience. That said, the most important part of any tour is the personal pilgrimage, where a visitor wishes to find a grave or memorial and then lay a tribute. This is an activity which must, by its very nature, take pride of place on any tour. I am happy to supply remembrance material or can point you in the right direction should you wish to arrange your own. I can also arrange for you to lay a tribute at the Menin Gate in Ypres should you wish. All travellers will receive a pack containing maps, photos, quotations, etc as applicable - these are yours to keep.
All itineraries shown are a guide only and represent a sample of what is to be seen. Many other locations can be added, either in the planning stage, or even when on the ground. It is YOUR tour !
Because of the bespoke nature of my tours it is difficult to quote a price for every eventuality. Prices quoted are therefore a guide to costs and may vary, both up and down, according to the nature of your tour, the travel method chosen and the numbers travelling. I will always do my utmost to provide you with the most cost-effective option to meet your needs. ALL tours are fully-inclusive, that is you get all travel ( save where air fares are involved ), all meals, all incidental travel costs such as public transport connections whilst on tour ( not including getting to and from the agreed meeting place ), museum entrance fees included in the price. There are NO hidden extras. All tours will be fully discussed with you so that you can make an informed choice.
Let "Past Endeavours" make your journey an unforgettable experience which will stay with you for a lifetime.
